Bloody years flying by...
Dec. 13th, 2010 10:56 amI feel old. I was just walking up the street and bumped into someone (it's not an odd occurence - I'm very clumsy).
I said sorry, looked up and then recognised him. I used to babysit him when he was 5/6 years old. He informed me that he turned 21 yesterday. *sobs*

Date: 2010-12-13 01:28 pm (UTC)I really do not look at age in any way. (Except regarding the very young. Damn kids!) Truly, i was shocked to discover the age of some of my workmates, simply because i don't see them in regards to age; whatever age they turned out to be would shock me, because it's not something i think about at all. I'm certainly not ageist! ;)

Date: 2010-12-14 03:37 am (UTC)Sorry. I just love that song!
I feel your pain, though. A dear friend of mine (from my teen years) and I were out at a play recently, and ran into one of the university kids that I work with in the summer on the outdoor Shakespeare festival. We discovered that my friend and I have been friends since before this UNIVERSITY student was born.

Date: 2010-12-14 07:46 am (UTC)Although that does remind me of something else that made me feel old. I was watching one of the music channels and one of those Top 40 Christmas songs came on...this awesomeness was not even in the top twenty and the original Band Aid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5cX_ncZLls) was lower placed than the remake (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5vMdmajxFY) made a few years ago.
I feel for you - it's that feeling of just 'WTF!' that gets me.
